For Visual and Auditory Learners:

Because we all learn differently, I’m going beyond just video. I’ve created 15 diagrams to help illustrate the different techniques we cover in this class. The tricky sections also come with written overviews for each step, for easier reference.

Meet your Teacher

Hi, my name is Mia Mueller. I am a ceramic artist and a teacher living in Berlin. I founded Pottery to the People as a community studio in 2019, teaching over a thousand students and mentoring about 100 members. Since COVID, I have expanded into the digital world!

This is my first online class that takes my most popular in-person class— Potter’s Wheel for Beginners— and brings it to you all over the world!

This class is a culmination of my years of experience. I know the most common mistakes and have figured out a teaching style that is clear and inspires you to try your best to achieve your dreams in clay.

Come get muddy with me!

This class is for you if:

  • you've tried handbuilding, but you want to try the wheel.

  • you've tried the wheel before but are still struggling with basic techniques like centering & pulling.

  • you have access to a potter’s wheel

This class is NOT for you if:

  • you’ve already mastered the basic techniques of wedging, throwing, trimming, & glazing

  • you’re looking for something a little more advanced. This class is beginner-level.
